The first edition of an important anonymously transmitted North German chorale fantasia from c.1660. As discussed at length in the preface, the piece clearly stems from the Scheidemann circle, and all features point in the direction of none other than the young Dieterich Buxtehude as its most likely author, thus filling an important gap in our knowledge of his organ music.
